One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest

Why does Kesey use Chief Bromden as the narrator? What do we, as the readers, get to experience as a result?

Being that Bromden is in the ward he sees everything thats happening hes goin through everything so nothing better than that. Since he is in the ward he knows how to explain things that are happening what the black boys are doing and all.

Mrs. Trembley,
I haven't been getting any credit for the posts I left. Thought I would let you know.

I think bromden makes the best narrator because he is seeing it without much personal feelings towards anyone and the hallucinations add a different depth to the stories. Chief heres everything so he knows even more of whats going on or as much as Big Nurse Ratched. He doesnt always explain things perfectly but you understand what is going on and how all the patients must see it.It also shows that he isnt as dumb and crazy as they think he is.

Chief proves hes not the person everyone thought he was. Hes the one who ends up getting out of the place and beats up the black boys with Mcmurphy and becomes friends with more than just Mack and he ends up helping him with the lobotomy situation.
