Writing a script already seems really hard and I have only had the assignment for about 2 weeks now. We have to make sure that we have every move that we want the person to take and what kind of things you want around the people who are in the scene. There's a lot or work for the writers and they deserve credit for everything they do. It takes a lot of time and effort to put together something that everyone is going to enjoy!
You're right - writing a script is a lot harder than many people realize. They tend to think that actors and actresses are just "winging" it up there, but more often than not, there is a very detailed script guiding their every move. I hope all of you have started and are well on your way to casting the parts and planning the videotaping or rehearsals. January 9th will be here before you know it!
Once I have gotten started writing the scipt everything seems to be coming together better than I had planned. So far i have written 14 pages and a page a day has gotten me there and not overloading myself and taking the time to put it together and not waiting for the last minute like everyone else. I have figured out a plan to make sure everything is done right and it's as detailed as possiable, but sometimes it's a pain in the butt because you have to know their moves. It's getting easyier though.
I thought the filming was going to be the easyiest part but it turns out it was hard to keep a straight face it didn't help that my script was wacky and there was animals being a person and a rabbit our detective "dog" but thats makes ours unique, and we were told we could do anything we wanted to.
well i was told that if there is laughing anywheres in the film then points are going to be taken off for doing that. And it was kind of hard to keep a straight face knowing that our victim was a dog and our attack dog was a rabbit. Is that true? Am i going to fail for having that in there? i was over 35 minutes and everything i really actually did what i was suppose to! But hearing that i kind of got scared and i dont want to fail! *urgh*
I haven't seen your video, but if you did everything you are supposed to do, I don't believe that you will fail if you laugh a little in the scene. Your idea is certainly creative - the poor dog:) The overall points for the video and for the script are located on the assignment sheet. Take a look and see the overall layout. Smile:)
well in the end no students got to see our video because there wasnt enough time in class so i really dont know the reaction. But Mrs. Yurkewecz said it was good besides the end when we laghed at the wrong time and we were short like 10 mins i think it was. but we timed it all out and i dont know how that happen but oh well. it took a while to do and a lot of work was put into it!
