Personally I don't think things like religion should even be near a school for one some people don't believe in anything and some are true catholic's but why do they have to go to school and hear about if your not? It's not fair to the people who don't beleive in anything. Things about history should be taught (though it's very boring) because then we see what other people went through when they were alive. Just as one day someone will be learing about our time period. I seem to love math this year and English so they should be in there. (But it would be better if Mrs. Trembley was teaching because I miss her). But why do we need to learn another language and it's required for many colleges and schools. You need credits. I hated learning another language. I like art class too! That should be taught just like it is. Theres really not anything that i'm not takeing that i would want to be put in the school all of a sudden. I love my schedule I wouldn't change it.
Religion definitely should not be a part of a public school's curriculum, in my opinion. It's a very touchy, personal subject for most people and it should not be taken lightly. A lot of people believe different things in a public school, unlike Catholic schools where at least 3/4 of the students are actually devote Catholics. You can teach religion as an historical stand-point, but that's what it should be limited to.
That’s what the whole book was about it's a historical religion thing they want the whole town to believe in God like that’s a higher power. Maybe religion was more of a bigger thing then because many things weren’t happening for people to think. Things that happen these days killing’s and all the sort and no matter what people think that “God” is going to be there and protect them But, the mother with 2 kids and no father good job very healthy gets killed by a drunk driver. The driver walks away with small injuries. You can’t explain everything but there is one thing for sure people often do stupid things and bad things often happen. Many people look to the bible for everything that’s not going to help someone from getting killed or going to church every day. I still don’t understand how people can believe in something that’s not even there to tell you anything directly.
I’m sorry if I offend anyone with what I believe in but that’s why this is an opinion I don’t know what more to say if you don’t like it.
